Workplace Environment

Do You Love Your Job?

They say if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life. So is there a system by which you can measure your workplace to determine whether it’s a positive environment? Below are a few questions we asked our employees which you can ask yourself to make the call:

1) Do you care about doing well in your workplace because you don’t want to let the team down?

“I feel an immense sense of responsibility not only to the company, but also to the people I work with day in and day out. I strive to set the example for my team, and letting them down simply isn’t an option.” -Mynor, Head of Production.

2) Do you look at the clock because you can’t wait to go home?

REP Perspective: “I look at the clock because deadlines factor heavily into my day-to-day activities, but I never look at the clock because I’m dying to leave. I’m proud of the work I do and want to make sure it’s at its fullest potential, so I’ll be tweaking a project even five minutes before a deadline just to make sure I’m satisfied with it. Time is only a factor to make sure I’m delivering and making REP proud.” -Ryan, Post Production Supervisor.

3) Do you thoroughly enjoy social interaction with your co-workers?

REP Perspective: “There is no doubt that I enjoy the interaction between me and my co-workers. It’s not hard to believe after spending a day at REP and see how many times we find ourselves grouping together in a hallway or a particular office. We have inside jokes, we make jokes at each others’ expense, but all in good nature and without hindering our work-flow. We have a comfortability and respect for each other that allows us to enjoy getting our work done with and for one another.” -Wade, Brand Manager.

4) Instead of gossiping about the people you work with, do you talk about how awesome your co-workers are and their unique skills?

REP Perspective: “I’ve lived by the motto that if you don’t wake up excited to go to work in the morning, you probably shouldn’t be doing what you’re doing. I’ve been privileged to work in a thrilling industry where every day is fun, exciting and different, but it definitely took me a while to figure it all out! The people I work with are part of what makes all of that true, and I’m proud to work with the team I work with.” -Chris, Chief Marketing Officer.
